Say Skylar works as a dog walker in her neighborhood. She needs to find out how much she is getting paid per hour by her neighbor Old Man Jenkins. If she isn’t getting paid well enough, she wants to find out which neighbor will hire her for a better pay. How do we solve this..?.

  1. Say Skylar works as a dog walker in her neighborhood. She needs to find out how much she is getting paid per hour by her neighbor Old Man Jenkins. If she isn’t getting paid well enough, she wants to find out which neighbor will hire her for a better pay. How do we solve this..? How much am I really getting paid? ..UNIT RATES!

  2. Old Man Jenkins pays Skylar at the end of each week, after she works all weekend (Saturday and Sunday) for 3 hours. Her paycheck is $20.44. How much money does he pay her per day? Per hour? Old Woman Sniknej offers a paycheck of $25.50 at the end of the week, working 2 hours for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Which neighbor offers the best deal for the labor? Scenario OR

  3. ..That’s hot HOW IN THE WORLD DO WE SOLVE THIS? Well, unit rates, obviously! We would start out by first DIVIDING the paycheck, by the number of DAYS worked. Then after that, we would DIVIDE the paycheck again, by the number of HOURS worked. Get it? No? Let us demonstrate! 
