In fact, many agencies prefer simple “digitals” or “polaroids” to see your natural look. These should include: A headshot (no makeup or very minimal) A profile shot A full body shot (front and back) Natural lighting and a plain background

  4. C L A S S I C M O D E L LEARN THE BASICS OF POSING AND MOVEMENT Posing may look effortless, but it takes practice. Study poses in fashion magazines, follow models on social media, and practice in front of a mirror. Focus on posture, hand placement, and how to express emotion through facial expressions.

  5. C L A S S I C M O D E L BUILD YOUR FIRST PORTFOLIO Once you’ve practiced your poses and gained confidence, consider doing a few test shoots with photographers. Many photographers offer time-for-print (TFP) sessions where both of you collaborate in exchange for photos. Start small — one good headshot, a full body shot, and 2–3 styled images are enough for a beginner’s portfolio. This helps you present a more professional image when reaching out to agencies.
