  1. Best Places To Visit In Dreamy Sciacca CLASSIC SICILY

  2. Overview Sciacca is also known for its carnival and the Selinuntine and Acquae Labados spas, which have made it the city of spas; as a result, Sciacca is considered the oldest thermal centre in Sicily. It's impossible not to be enchanted by the pastel colours of the buildings reflected in the cobalt blue sea, as well as the picturesque fishing boats docked at the port, all of which combine to turn Sciacca into a true living postcard. Let's start our luxury trip Sicily by exploring Sciacca's hidden gems.

  3. Castello Dei Luna It is one of the locations of the famous "Sciacca case": the bloody struggle between the de Luna (Catalan) and the Perollo families (Norman). The romantic version tells of Giovanni Perollo's secret love for the noble Margherita, while the historical version clashes over political and economic interests. The ruined castle stands within the ancient city walls, the remains of which can still be seen today, along with the town hall and the cylindrical tower housing replicas of mediaeval weapons and armour.

  4. The Enchanted Castle Filippo Bentivegna's Enchanted Castle is located in Sciacca, in the province of Agrigento, a few kilometres from the city centre. This is a strange, magical place, an open-air museum where time appears to have stood still. When his fiefdom's stones became scarce, Filippo dug tunnels to extract the more ductile stones. Around 3000 sculptures can be found while strolling through the garden. Other Bentivegna heads are now on display at Lausanne's Art Brut Museum. So let's plan luxury trip Sicily to explore more about Sciacca.

  5. Santa Margherita Church It is one of Sciacca's richest churches. Restored and reopened to the public, it is now used for exhibitions and events rather than religious functions. Looking at the structure from Piazza del Carmine, it is immediately apparent to the viewer that it is an imposing structure. Regarding the two portals, the main one facing west is in a clear Catalan-Gothic style, with two octagonal pillars supported by a triple ringed bastion. The other Portal is located on the Via Incisa and is a magnificent structure of white marble that is adorned with some low relief sculptures.

  6. Palazzo Steripinto Steripinto is one of the oldest buildings in Sciacca that still stands today. The decorative elements of the facade and the decorative research make this building one of the city's most important monuments and an example of Sicily's late Gothic Plateresque art. In fact, the facade is made up of a series of diamond-tipped stone bosses that form a kind of defence armour when combined.

  7. Ferdinandea Island Ferdinandea island is a large rocky platform located about 6 metres below sea level in the Canale di Sicilia, between Sciacca and Pantelleria. It is the remains of a volcanic apparatus that emerged from the water in 1831, following a submarine eruption of a volcano, to form the island. Ferdinandea is part of a complex network of submarine volcanoes. The island is one of the accessory cones of the submarine volcano Empedocle, a massive volcanic structure that shares many similarities with Etna, Sicily's most famous volcano.
