  2. Readers warm up their minds by taking a book walk. 1. Look at the front cover and the title of the book. 2. Think about what you might already know about this topic. 3. Look at each page to get your mind ready to read about this topic. LA.2.1.7.1 Unit 5 - Grade 2 – Nonfiction TP ! – Rev. 2010

  3. Readers warm up their minds by previewing the text looking for and learning from pictures, diagrams, graphs, etc. 1. Stop and look at each picture, diagram, graph, map, etc. 2.   4. Readers warm up their minds by reading the headings/subheadings and using them to predict what they may learn. 1. Read the first heading or subheading on the page. 2.
