  1. Site Saver TM Training Site Saver training is designed to help secure an IV site within seconds. Midwest Applied Technology LLC

  2. TM Site SaverInstructionsFor Hand Model Only Special note: Site Saver may not work on “all” IV applications or locations, but was developed as a tool to aid in the alignment and retention of “most” IV applications. TM

  3. Steps 1 & 2 • Start thePatient’sIV using industry “best practices”. • Ensure the hand size and IV location are acceptable for use. • Place Site Saver as indicated in slides 4 & 5. • The more clips used, the more retention you have on the tubing. TM

  4. Tube should be on top of stabilizer. Placement of Site Saver Step #1: • Place Site Saver on top of patient’s hand. TM

  5. Straps easily adjust for comfort and control of phlebitis. Securing Site Saver TM Step #2: - Fasten Site Saver with Velcro straps. TM

  6. Alignment • The center clips are for alignment, choose the clip(s) allowing for the straightest route to the site. • Do not tape the tubing to the Site Saver before entering the first retainment clip. The tubing should slide in the “alignment” clips! • Continue inserting tubing into the retainment clips (around periphery). TM

  7. Attaching Tube Step #3: - Snap IV tube into clips by gently pushing tube downward; there are several recommended configurations on the following slide.
