  2. Achievement Orientation • Achievement orientation is a drive to accomplish one's goals and to meet or exceed a high standard of success. • Achievement-oriented people often want to do things better or more efficiently than they have been done in the past.

  3. Achievement Orientation • It means having the drive and passion to accomplish goals, excel in all you do, and be successful. • These individuals that fall within this category are always striving to improve their work and be more efficient.

  4. Achievement Orientation • They want to see results and do better than others. • Lastly, they often set high goals and standards and work hard to achieve them.

  5. Achievement Orientation • As you might expect, achievement orientation is about getting results. • It can be about working towards excellence; or a personal desire to do better than you did last time or to do better than others.

  6. Achievement Orientation • People who are achievement oriented set high standards. • They take time to think about how well they have done something and look for new and better ways to improve their skills and performance. 

  7. Characteristics 1. They tend to be leaders, like to get things done, they meet deadlines, maintain high standards, and look to overcome any circumstance in a positive manner. Because they strive to achieve, others tend to recognize their lead and follow them.

  8. Characteristics 2. They are responsible. If they make a mistake, they take ownership of it.

  9. Characteristics 3. They set high standards. Achievement oriented individuals set goals and standards and contemplate how they will reach and exceed them. Those who fall in this category are rarely 100% satisfied, and therefore are always looking for ways to improve.

  10. Characteristics • They are constantly learning in order to be the best they an be find better ways to be more productive. • They possess a positive attitude. They never give up and find ways to encourage others to achieve their goals.

In the context of ongoing development, Achievement Orientation helps Individual: • Focus on identifying ways to do things better • Learn how to initiate actions to improve personal performance • Cultivate new strategies for obtaining information • Become more successful in taking advantage of opportunities
