Analysis PP 03 (Kaunas University) • Some results of a conference in Kaunas with 344 participants: • „Vorderlands are not interested in Hinterlands as a potential for market development.“ • Lack of capacity in implementation as Hinterland inhabitants are not open enough • „Competition, not co-operation is typical for Hinterland-Vorderland-Links.“ • „The development strategies of Vorderlands and Hinterlands are not harmonised.“

Recommendations for pilot profiling • Be aware of reluctance in Vorderland • Take into account target group, range and relevance • Intensify the search for partners in Vorderland • Concentrate on specific projects for pilots – do not try to solve all problems with one pilot project • Contact partners individually • Be clear of the aim and of possible pilots when contacting partners
