This pilot study involved three conditions and 60 children per site across Morgantown, San Diego, and Mountain View. Participants were randomized to either use the gDitty device for activity monitoring only, a combination of Dance Dance Revolution with gDitty, or gDitty with rewards via a website. Results showed a promising 30% increase in moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) sustained over six weeks, equating to an additional ¾ mile of running daily. The diverse demographic included mixed SES and 48% female representation.
