  1. Water A Power Point by Jaslyn

  2. What Is H2O? H20, or water, is a liquid that all creatures need in order to live. It contains no calories, no taste, no smell, and no colour. Water comes in the forms of dew, frost, snow, rain, clouds, mist, fog, and in containers. It can be hot, cold, warm, or room temperature. It can be clean or dirty. It can spill, slosh, splatter, and dampen. Water is an absolute necessity in life.

  3. The Water Cycle The Water Cycle repeats itself again and again every day, every month, and every year. The water from the Atlantic Ocean may end up in a snowstorm in Russia or a puddle in Spain!

  4. Survival If you get lost in a forest, canyon, desert, or whatsoever, make sure that you have a lot of water. If you don’t have any water at all, search around for streams. Do not drink from ponds as they may contain dirty things like chemicals, germs, sewage water, pesticide, sediments, etc. Some streams are fine to drink from. Make sure you have a purifier. But if you don’t…

  5. Methods of Purifying Water One method of purifying stream water is boiling it. The question is, how long? Ten to thirty minutes should be okay, depending on how clean you want the water to be.

  6. Enter Water Filters… At home, many people think it’s okay to drink tap water, but it really isn’t. That’s why we rely on water filters to clean the water we drink so that we don’t consume dirty things like chemicals. The next slides will introduce, compare, and contrast three water filter companies.

  7. Santevia Santevia uses an eight-stage filter to make alkaline water. They sells numerous things such as filters, purifiers, water bottles, etc. The owners of Santevia are David and Yvonne Anderson (shown at right).

  8. Brita Brita is another filter company. Tap water is filtered using activated carbon and ion exchange resin. This takes out all unwanted chemicals.

  9. PUR Pur uses Activated carbon microfilters to filter tap water. The microfilters are made out of coconut shells and trap sediments and chemicals in small, unnoticed corners.

  10. Countries in Need of Water There are many countries in need of clean water, but four of them top the list: Africa, the Middle East, and India.

  11. Another Word about Water “Remember… A water shortage is not only about a physical lack of water... It is often more about economic resources, which is what makes it so important to understand that the global water crisis is a human problem rather than a series of isolated geographical inconveniences…” -Seametrics (see Bibliography)

  12. In Conclusion We are really blessed to have clean water, water filters, and healthy bodies! Thousands of millions of people like us have to walk miles of land to get just one bucket of water. Sometimes the water is infested with germs and chemicals. Don’t waste water and drink at least 8 cups a day. Be thankful for the water we have!

  13. Thank you for Reading! everyone needs water!
