This initiative by Arts in Action and the Alzheimer’s Association of Central Alabama emphasizes the importance of art therapy for dementia patients. Art therapy is believed to help release trapped emotions, alleviate depression, and enhance sociability and relaxation among patients. Our goals include establishing a successful arts program, sharing insights with ALAA members, and hosting an art exhibit at an upcoming conference. The program features trainings, seasonal artwork, storytelling through art, and a manual with 36 weeks of creative ideas to support the community.
