  2. The general theme • The manager will be a role model, and will ultimately held responsible for the actions of his / her employees. • You need a clear set of standards so employees know what you expect of yourself and of others.

  3. We all have ethical standards, whether or not we like it • Organizations and managers both have ethical standards, some of which are formalized, and others of which are informal. • Your employees will quickly determine the “bottom line” of your ethical standards, so you need to make sure you’re happy with them.

  4. Managers are role models • Whether you like it or not, people will look up to you as a role model. • People will look to your actions, not your words, to determine what you believe.
