  2. Background of the Study The study is about the researcher’s attempts to validate if Gelatin is feasible as an art paint.

  3. Statement of the Problem Prices of goods and raw materials have been steadily rising these past few years, including those of in the paint industries. This study aims to focus on the feasibility of gelatin as an art paint.

Statement of the Problem Sub Problems • Is the product satisfactory when it comes to: -Color -Odor -Viscosity -Shelf-life-Drying Time • Is there any difference between the qualities of the three different colors formed in terms of: -Viscosity -Drying Rate 3. Overall, base on the assessments made, is the paint user-friendly?

Scopes and Limitations • This study focuses only on the efficiency of gelatin as a main component of art paints and the qualities of the product’s characteristics; mainly on their: viscosity, odor, drying rates, color and shelf lives. • The study will not cover the different forms of art paints that can be formed. Also, it will not tackle on the effects of the different environments to the paint after application.

  6. Procedures The gelatin was dissolved in a cup of water and then added to 3 cups of boiling water. It is partially covered and simmered for about 3 minutes. During that time, boil the flour/water mixture until it thickens. The flour paste was combined with the gelatin, the scent was then added shortly afterwards.

  7. Procedure Prepare the containers and pour the binder. Add the pigments. Paint ensued. To measure the drying rate, the researcher paints a streak of the paint on a piece of bond paper, the time it takes to dry is then measured. This process is repeated three times per color.

  12. Significance The paint as it is, is quite satisfactory in terms of drying rate, viscosity and odor. The only hindrance in color is the unavailability of a proper pigment for the color red. The shelf-life however, even if properly stored, lasts only more or less a week.

  13. The difference in the viscosity of the three colors were highly insignificant. The difference in the drying-rates brought by the difference of the pigments used were also insignificant.

  14. Conclusions • Conclusions • The drying rates are quite satisfactory, ranging only from a few seconds to a full minute. The ANOVA’s results state that the p-value is greater than 0.10 alpha. The difference between the three samples’ drying rates are highly insignificant. • The viscosity of the product is average, not so thick yet not too thin.   15. The mean of the color’s first assessment was slightly brilliant while the second assessment stated that it was moderately liked. The color’s performance was hindered by the absence of a good pigment of the color red. • The odor’s assessments were extremely liked and having an excellent blend. • The shelf-life of the product, when un-refrigerated, lasted 3 days. A second batch of the product was refrigerated and lasted 7 days without change. The product lasts only a bit more than the previous gelatin paints made.

  16. Generally, depending upon the pigments used and storage, the product is user-friendly. But not consumer-friendly since it lasts only a few days. • Gelatin is feasible for art paint but not for commercial purposes, e.g., in its more suitable in home use and in classroom activities where it can be then dispose thereafter. Recommendations • The researcher of this study recommends the following: • The use of other organic pigments that are easy to acquire. • Researching on preservatives that can extend the product’s shelf-life.
