Exodus 31 14 You shall keep the Sabbath, therefore, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death… Lord’s Day – The Day Belongs to the Lord!

Profaning Holy Things or Making the Holy, Common The Lord’s Money is Holy In one sense Everything belongs to the Lord 1 Corinthians 10:26 For “the earth is the LORD'S, and all its fullness.” Psalms 50 10 For every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills. 12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you; For the world is Mine, and all its fullness. We are simply Stewards 1 Peter 4:10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 1 Cor. 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.

Once Given to the Lord it is “Holy” Acts 5:4 While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.

Profaning Holy Things or Making the Holy, Common The Lord’s Church is Holy Matthew 16:18 “…I will build My church…” Acts 20:28 “…the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.” It’s NOT “My church,” “Your Church,” “Our Church.” 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

How Can We Profane the Lord’s Church? • By Turning it into a Secular Organization, a Glorified Country Club: • Raise Funds to Entertain members • Ball Teams, Scouts, Field Trips, Car Washes • Schools: Day Care, Pre-school, K-12 • Fund Colleges, Sponsoring Churches, Hospitals…

Profaning Holy Things or Making the Holy, Common The Lord’s Temple is Holy 1 Corinthians 6 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. 1 Corinthians 6 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

Profaning Holy Things or Making the Holy, Common The Lord’s Temple is Holy Romans 12 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. 1 Peter 1 15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

Any Time We Sin: 1 Corinthians 6 13 Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body... 18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
