  2. Chinese Festivals There are some Chinese festivals, the Chinese do things on these special days. Here are some of those days.

Dragon Boat Fest On the fifth day of the fifth month in the lunar calendar there is a special event called the dragon boat festival holding lots of customs, some of the customs include, eating Zongzi, dragon boat racing, wearing perfume patches and hanging mugwort leaves. On this day people go dragon boat racing

  4. New Year Fest On the 1st – 15th day of the 1st lunar month there is an event called the spring festival and some customs include, making paper cut pictures, displaying firecrackers and fireworks and pasting scrolls. The point of this fest is to celebrate the new year.

  5. Lantern Fest On the 15th day of 1st lunar month there is a event called the lantern festival and some of the customs include, watching lanterns and fireworks, guessing lantern riddles, performing folk dances and eating yuanxiao. The purpose of this festival is to end the Chinese year.

  6. Qingming Fest On the 5th day of April in the solar calendar there is an event called the Qingming festival. On this day, people enjoy the greenery of spring time and appreciate the dead by tending to the tombs of their ancestors. Some of the customs include, tomb sweeping, spring outings and flying kite.

  7. Double Seventh Fest On the 7th day of the 7th lunar month there is a event called the double seventh festival. Some of the customs include, praying for skillful hands, appreciating the stars and eating noodles. This fest is like a Chinese valentines day!
