  1. Scenario Solution Essay examples HSM/220 Human Services Administration: So You Want To Help People 08/18/2013 Scenario Solution As more and more students drop out of schools is important to put money together in order to open up more programs that will help them gain the educational skills that will ensure that students learn the skills they need to obtain a job and be able to accomplish their tasks successfully. Making this happen will take close attention and a lot of work, understanding, and conversation. To define goals and share achievements as they happen from all teams which include educators, students, and the community. The challenge is to provide high school drop–outs with enough information and help them boost their confidence to find a job....show more content... There are many obstacles to be overcome while trying to motivate high schools drop–outs. We must compete with companies that hire students for jobs that require low skills like fast food restaurants, manual labor like landscaping or maintenance jobs. For this companies to make profits they must hire people that will only earn the lowest wages. In order to help school drop–outs realize these companies are taking advantage of them, we must post fliers or brochures around the businesses and the community. To make sure that the advertisement on the fliers is effective, we will use the advertisement team to create, design and print out pamphlets, flyers, brochures, and other information necessary about the organization. In order to compete with the companies that hire drop–out students, we must ensure that students realize that it's important to achieve more in life, to have a more financial stable future for them and their families. To achieve all the goals mention we must have community support. The community partners can help us by sharing a place to hold meetings. When deciding where to meet monthly or weekly, it is important to vary where the meetings are held by meeting outdoors. Many high schools students have a passion for sports and sharing activities after a meeting will definitely encourage them to assist every meeting. Holding community outreach programs at a local park can alleviate the expenditures. Holding these meetings ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  2. The Water Crisis and Solutions Essay There is a global shortage of drinking water. A person might wonder how this can be if seventy percent of the earth's surface is covered by water. Most of the Earth's water is unsuitable for human consuption. Ocean water is salt water, which makes up 97.5% of all water on the planet. Freshwater is only 3.5% of all the water on Earth. Drinking water is sourced from bodies of freshwater. Freshwater is quite scarce, but it is even scarcer than one might think: about seventy percent of all freshwater is frozen in the icecaps of Antarctica and Greenland and is unavailable to humans. Most of the remainder is present as soil moisture or lies in deep underground aquifers as groundwater. It is not economically feasible to extract this waster...show more content... Instead of increasing the supply of water to meet demand, a more viable method of addressing the water crisis is to manage consumption. The world population continues to grow, and trying to increase the supply of water is risky at best and usually costs exorbitant amounts of money, making this option available only to wealthy or economically developed countries. Therefore, controlling the use of water in municipalities or having a national policy of water conservation would allow the world's supply of freshwater to better sustain itself through rainfall and other methods. Conserving water also saves energy, and energy is needed to treat, transport, and heat freshwater. For water–saving programs to succeed, however, several things must be in place. The water saving program implemented by the city of Zaragoza in Spain highlights some basic actions required for such a program to succeed. Firstly, "rather than being a collection of fragmented, individual initiatives, the setting up of the Zaragoza Water Commission allowed the effective coordination of consultation, implementation and evaluation of different activities, with the aim of achieving a common goal." (Water demand management, 2010) Secondly, the goal of reducing water use by all types of consumers requires the cooperation of a wide range of stakeholders. Working closely with stakeholder representatives allows the identification of realistic and acceptable water ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  3. Problem Solution Homelessness Essay Homelessness the Problems of America Homelessness has always been a problem in major cities across the United States and even the world. This problem also affects out local community and even all of us individually. (Daily) A majority of the American people lives paycheck to paycheck, and according to statistics, we are only one or two paychecks away from becoming homeless. While there are many reasons a person or family can become homeless, a majority of those problems come from a lack of income. The job market of today is quickly dwindling and shows no signs of improvement. This market mixed with new government policies is becoming an issue for struggling American's on the poverty line. Homelessness is becoming a vast problem...show more content... Some veterans suffer from a mental illness known as PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) when they do not seek medical help they have a higher risk of becoming homeless then those that seek medical advice. This disorder was caused by something that the military veteran experienced while in active duty during war. While the idea's that have come forth to try to solve the problem of homelessness, many people have come up with great solutions that are currently helping these individuals. The programs that are in place provide shelters for people who have been kicked to the streets and have no place to stay. These shelters provide food, clothing, water, and best of all a place to sleep. However, these shelters require the individuals staying there to seek a job during the day. The biggest problems these shelters have come from the rules that apply to those staying. The current rules allow homeless people to take advantage of the program by allowing them to stay there for up to 6 months, and then they must move to another shelter or live on the streets. The problem presented with this rule is in most cities they have more than one shelter, which allows people to abuse the system and live under the care of taxpayers indefinitely. However, most people understand that there could potentially be more than one reason why a person would need to return to a homeless shelter within 6 months to a year, but not spend almost their entire life using ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  4. The Concentration Of A Solution Introduction: Concentration of a solution can be defined as the amount of the solute in a fixed amount of a solvent or a solution. Concentration can be expressed in many different ways. A few of them are: percent composition, parts per million, parts per billion, molarity, molality, normality and formality. The most commonly used is the molarity, which is defined as the number of moles of solute present in one litre of the solution. Knowing the concentration of solutions is a very important aspect, specifically in the field of medicine. In case of a medicine is prescribed by a doctor, the concentration of the components present in the medicine play an important role. The intravenous injections given to us have the same concentration of the solute as the concentration of the solute present in the blood. It means the solution in case of the medicine should be isotonic with the blood. If it is not, then the movement of the substances will take pace either into the cells or out of the cells, which might make the cells swell or shrink. The purpose of this lab is to find the concentration of the unknown solution, located at the front. If more water is added to the substance, then the solution will become less concentrated with the copper sulphate substance. Also the colour will change, if the solution is more concentrated, then it will stay a darker shade of blue, but if it is less concentrated, it will get lighter than the more concentrated solution. 5. Solution Essay On Water Pollution Pollution Have you ever imagine live in a world where you can go out and breath fresh air? Where can you drink water or swim in the ocean with no worries of getting any disease? That could be possible if we help our planet and if we reduce the levels of water, air, land, and light pollution. Why should we care? Now a days, pollution is getting bigger and bigger every day, and we should take care immediately due we do not have other planet where to live. If we do not do anything, no one will do it. If we destroy our planet, we are destroying ourselves, and we have to remember that most of our problems are the reflection of our actions. If we compare a way of life that helps the planet in which we live in contrast to the chaotic reality that we inhabit. To begin with, water pollution is one of the biggest pollution that we are facing and "it is caused by many factors including (but certainly not limited to): uncontrolled constructions sites, leaking sewer lines, storm water runoff, accidental spills and leaks, improper discharge of wastes, mining activities, foundries, animal waste, and others." (Water Pollution Solutions | 7 Simple Solutions) But we can try to fic this with one of these solutions. For example, create a group in your community in order to consciousness in your community, also look for more information and try to persuade others, and something that all of us can do in our own houses is close the tap when we finish to use the water. When there is a group in a ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  6. Problem and Solution of Global Warming Global warming is the observed increase in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere and oceans. Higher temperatures threaten dangerous consequences: drought, disease, floods, and lost ecosystems. From sweltering heat to rising seas, global warming's effects have already begun. Many people still believe that since the earth is so big, human beings cannot possibly have any major impact on the way the planet operates. The truth is we have grown so numerous and our technologies have become so powerful that we are now capable of having a significant influence on many parts of the earth's environment (Gore 22). Without the help of the human race, and the listening ears of our politicians, we are going to leave this extreme crisis to the...show more content... Another solution, and possibly the first step for the world to work together to reduce global warming, is to put energy efficient, renewable energy, and vehicle technology solutions in place at a federal level. California has been the only state to step up to the plate. In August 2006, the California state legislature passed the landmark Global Warming Solutions Act which mandates that the state's greenhouse gas emissions be rolled back to 1990 levels by 2020 (The Vote Heard around the World 1). This first–in–the–nation law puts a cap on gas emissions from power plants, refineries, and manufacturing plants. Since the United States currently produces 70 percent of its electricity from fossil fuels and only two percent from renewable resources, it is certain that by converting into more efficient and renewable energy it would significantly reduce our emissions of heat–trapping gases. Solutions for global warming include big changes, but they also include little things people can do everyday. My proposal is to simply get the word out to everyone. Teaching children in school and people at home how to implement steps on helping solve global warming is very important in today's world. One thing everyone can do is simply reduce emissions from your home energy use by using energy–efficient lighting and appliances, insulating your house, conserving hot water, and turning off lights and computers when you're finished with them. It's ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  7. The Problem Of Suicide And Suicide Essay Day to day, teens suffer from peer pressure, problem from home, and stress from academics. Despise their status in the environment, majority of high school students refrain from acknowledging the presence of their reality. The problem in most situations in that students feel shut in, trapped in a never ending misery. How do they cope? What are their ways of dealing? Most students live in denial. Others have friends to confide in. For the devastating part, most students are not as open to these ideas and it leaves them with this alternative: suicide. Suicide is the third leading cause in teens the ages 14 to 19 within rural underserved areas. Suicidal ideation (SI), suicidal thoughts, were surveyed in over 12 high schools and it was found that in the past year, thoughts of (SI) were not shared with peers or even adults in the pursuit of receiving help or support (Pisani, 2012). Because a student spends most of their day at school, it is ideal for schools to provide realistic opportunities and school–based programs to assist with the suicide among the youth. The Surviving the Teens Suicide Prevention and Depression Awareness Program designed four 50 minute session or each high school student. This presented information in regards to factual information about depression, suicidal warning signs, suicidal risk factors and myths associated with suicide (King, 2010). The program provide coping strategies for everyday life, referral sources if feeling suicidal, and how to recognize ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  8. Problem solving is a universal process that allows us to make decisions on everything from what to eat and what to wear. These steps contain the necessary knowledge that has been constructed through previous life experiences. Without sufficient experience the supports designed to strengthen our choices are weakened ending in the ultimate failure of the problem. There are many different strategies that good problem solvers use to solve a problem. The steps of the problem solving process are systematic and organized. First, take your time and identify the problem very carefully. Do the research, and become informed about your subject. Few good problem solvers solve problems fast. Life choices need to be supported with well thought–out...show more content... It is without doubt that humans will encounter problems that limit access to a preferred want or need at sometime during their lives and this was no different in my own life. Researchers D'Zurilla and Goldfried (1971) define a problem as "any life situation or task that demands a response for adaptive or effective functioning" (415). My life situation in question became deciding between attending school leading to future desired payoffs or working a menial full–time job that would not. The first step in the problem solving process, allowed me to identify the problem. A situation can be perceived or thought of as problematic when an individual encounters situations disturbs them or they find that it keeps them from a goal (Bingham, 1999). The problem surfacing in affording an education and paying for everyday necessities became the central focus at that point in my life and defined the problem that needed an immediate response. The problem solving process can best be defined as the best way to overcome obstacles in situations and the steps used to help overcome them (Peterson et al., 2002). The second step, sort out information that is not needed provided clarity during times in which the process seemed overwhelming. This called for a potential solution, a desired outcome and how to get there. The research that had initially been part of the formulating method had sparked an interest in the military. This idea was supported by the benefits that outweighed ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  9. AUCA is one of the best universities in Kyrgyzstan. Probably, it is such because it has got good teachers, American style and system of education and it is equipped with really good technologies. Still, as the university expands, more new students come than graduate, less frequently updated and increased in number computers start to become a problem. Right now there are more than one thousand students studying in AUCA, while in the computer laboratories there are over 100 computers available. Not talking about the time of exams, even in usual time it is always hard to sign up for the computer time. Students are complaining about the computer lab all the time. For instance, if I, as an average student, start writing the essay the day before the deadline, won't be able to find a computer to type my essay, I will get an F grade for this paper. The same situation may become worse when it is time close to midterm or even final exams. Obviously, when students can't use their time on computers to fulfill their needs or wishes, they start getting angry about it, and this is no good. Usually, there are no people in the laboratories early in the morning, so the problem is not an emergency. Nevertheless, during the midterm week, I don't even try to use a computer, because time is money, and it takes a lot of time. Indeed, as everything else in the world, this situation has its own causes. First, the clearest and first to think of cause is that there are not enough computers for everyone. That statement also breaks up into two causes – too few computers, or too many students. There are about a 100 computers available for students, not counting library computers, and more than 1000 students. Second, there is not enough computer time per student allowed. Ordinary student can use the computer for one and a half hour, while a Software Engineering student can use a computer for three hours (which, of course, makes sense). Third, wrong computer time management is a cause of lack of computers problem. Again, it leads us to two different situations. Students may use their computer time to play games and chat online and be happy, but ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  10. Solutions to the Global Climate Change Essay Global warming has become a world wide issue and an issue that is causing great controversy. It is an increase in the earth's atmospheric and oceanic temperatures widely predicted to occur due to an increase in the greenhouse effect resulting especially from pollution (Dictionary). Global warming is a natural process, but because of increase in certain activities this process is taking a faster and more dangerous route creating global problems. Global warming was first theorized in 1894 by Jean Baptiste Joseph Fourier a French mathematician, who noticed the earth was gradually increasing in temperature. He came to the conclusion that the earth's atmosphere was trapping solar radiation caused by the sun and reflecting this radiation back to...show more content... The increase in CO2 emission is primarily caused by the burning of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are carbon–based fuels from fossil carbon deposits, including coal, oil, and natural gas. The burning of fossil fuels is a big part of life because it powers automobiles, heats and cools homes, and generates electricity. This combustion of fossil fuels is about 90% of the total emission in the world (Greenhouse gases, Climate change, and energy). When this fuel is burned, it pollutes the atmosphere and increases the global warming process. What makes CO2 dangerous is the fact that it is nonrenewable and it warms the earth faster. CO2 emissions should be lowered because when the earth is warmed up this and other greenhouse gases increase the rate at which the polar ice caps melt, resulting in increasing sea levels and flooding. To help reduce these CO2 emissions replacing a regular incandescent light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb can save 300 pounds of carbon dioxide a year (Al Gore, reduce your impact at home, 1), moving a thermostat down 2° in winter and up 2° in summer could save about 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year (Al Gore, reduce your impact at home, 3). Another great way to reduce CO2 emission is by switching to energy efficient appliances which can save 175 million pounds of carbon dioxide. These are one of many fantastic ways to help save the environment and drastically reduce the amount of CO2 being put into the atmosphere(Al Gore, reduce your ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  11. 'Energy Story And Conducting Solutions' In the articles "Energy Story" and "Conducting Solutions", as well as the video, "Hands–On Science with Squishy Circuits", they all have similar purposes. The first article's purpose was to teach people how electricity and energy works. The second article informs people about how different solutions can create electric currents. In addition, the video's purpose was to persuade people to do hands on science with their children while teaching them how Play–Doh is a circuit. They all have different purposes, but they all have the same topic for their purposes, electricity. In paragraph eleven of "Energy Story" it explains how electrons can work. The author states "Electrons can be made to move from one atom to another." and continues to "When...show more content... In paragraph two, it states "Pure water contains very few ions, so it does not conduct electricity well. When table salt is dissolved in water, the solution conducts very well, because the solutions contain ions.". In paragraph four, it explains how laundry ammonia can conduct electricity. It states "When ammonia dissolves in water, it reacts with the water and forms a few ions.". In conclusion, paragraph five explains more about how ammonia can cause electricity when it is put into a solution with vinegar. In the video, "Hands–On Science with Squishy Circuits", Anne Marie Thomas does a TED talk about Play–Doh circuits. She explains how she teaches her daughter about electricity by making homemade Play–Doh. At 1:42, she demonstrates with an LED light, Play–Doh that contains salt, Play–Doh that contains sugar, and batteries. She splits the salty Play–Doh in two and connects them with the batteries. To conclude, she sticks the LED light in both of the "squishy circuits" and it turns on. From reading and watching the articles and video, I learned a lot about electricity. Their purposes were different but still had a connection which helped me learn more and more about my topic. Since they were all diverse within the same topic, I got to learn not just about how electricity works, but how different solutions can form energy and how different, everyday things can make ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

This essays aims to go more in depth about the problems that surround the subject of "image" and then creating a solution to these issues. In order to get to a solution one must first come up with a method that includes thinking of a topic that is closely related to the subject of image, present said topic to the professor, compose an outline for a rough draft and eventually a final draft. This process will ultimately allow the student to further evaluate and resolve other issue in Asian American studies. 13. Solutions to Global Warming Essay example Solutions to Global Warming Scientists report that global warming has been escalating since the Industrial Revolution. Governments are trying to reduce carbon–dioxide emissions. With the speed of destruction of Earth? fs ecosystem, the survival of many species, including human beings, is threatened. In order to solve this danger, we have to reduce the consumption of energy and use the alternative energy resources. If we calculate the present energy price, alternative energy must be more expensive than fossil fuels. However if we consider the negative price which is caused by global warming, this result might be different. Now I would like to propose some solutions: (1) reduce the use of fossil fuels; (2) find alternative energy...show more content... (2) Find alternative energy resources I cannot recommend nuclear power as an alternative energy resource because many people have experienced accidents and atomic bombs. However, there are other alternatives such as wind power, tidal power, and solar power. Many people believe that these are expensive. Why not calculate the cost of global warming into the expense of using fossil fuels? Which is cheaper? In some industrialized countries, those experimental power sources have succeeded as profitable solutions. If we impose taxes on fossil fuels that will match the expenses we are going to pay to restore our planet, people will be eager to change their use of fossil fuels to new alternative energy resources. (3) Recycle usable resources In many industrialized nations, they do not collect bottles, cans and newspapers for the purpose of recycling. However this is done in many cities in the U.S. Why not do the same thing in other industrialized nations? In some states of the U.S., people pay five–cent deposit when they buy beer and other beverages. In order to get the money back, people collect cans and bottles. Human beings are egoistic: we have to give ourselves some kind of monetary incentive. And it works. (4) Planting Trees to help combat global warming As we know, trees and other plants absorb carbon dioxide as they grow. However, scientists found that the carbon–sink effect grows out of recent evidence that ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

The problem can affect a large group of people in a small way, or the problem can affect a small group of people in a large way. In a problem–solution paper, the solutions should be new to the reader. To write my research problem–solution essay I followed three steps: researching, writing, and documenting. To start my research process I determined the problem, and then began researching for solutions. The problem I chose was registration at Normandale, and the common issue of classes filling up too fast. Once I had my problem, I started researching for background information on registration, and...show more content... For my introduction, I started by writing a thesis statement. My thesis statement stated the problem of class registration at Normandale, and then introduced the four possible solutions; this gave the reader a brief summary of what to expect. To organize my body paragraphs, I wrote out my first topic sentence to define the problem, and then followed with four topic sentences for my four solutions. Finally, I rewrote my thesis so I could restate it in my conclusion. After organizing the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, I was ready to write my first draft. The purpose of my introduction was to interest the reader, and give them a brief background on the essay. The introductory paragraphs consisted of a hook, background information on the problem and why it is occurring, and then my thesis statement. My essay started with a direct quote I discovered when researching. I then explained the importance of the quote, and followed with my thesis. Also, I used correct MLA format when citing the direct quote in my paper. It's important to cite all sources correctly otherwise it will be penalized as plagiarism. Once my introduction was complete, I began writing the body paragraphs. The main purpose of my body paragraphs were to explain and support my thesis. For my body paragraph on the problem, I made sure to explain the problem of registration, give an example, and then state who the problem affected. I then started the ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

Brake addresses alcoholism as a "primary public health–problem" which holds merit, considering Brake sites alcohol is the cause of 19,000 auto fatalities each year. To remedy these preventable fatalities, Brake proposes to institute a national system of licensing with appropriate penalties for violators. Inevitably they become unwilling victims, and inevitably they take on that role." On top of the fact that Brake thinks alcoholism is a disease he also believes that doctors should report the cases they see like they would report a case of cancer or AIDS. But if alcoholism is not a disease then why would a doctor have to report it, also why report something that can not be treated by any form of medicine. The only known cure to this day is self– help. And that does not always work. "Medical professionals are admittedly incapable of helping drug addicts and alcoholics so they pass the buck. But, because of recidivism rates and treatment failure, the buck is passed right back" here Falcone is talking about how if a doctor has a patient who is an alcoholic all they can do is get them admitted to a treatment center, but more often then not they are back again after a few ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

These techniques are used to encourage new patterns of thinking and establishing solutions to construct the preferred future of the client (AIPC, 2010). The miracle question aims to encourage clients to visualise how their life would be and feel once change is made to solve the current problem and no longer negatively impacts upon their lives. Overfishing: The Problem and the Solution Your Name Axia College of University of Phoenix Overfishing: The Problem and the Solution A major environmental problem that has developed over the last few years is overfishing. What is overfishing? Overfishing is simply what it sounds like. Overfishing occurs when fishermen are catching fish so quickly and at such high rates that the fish are unable to reproduce fast enough to replenish the population. It is my belief that, if this has not always been a problem, it has always been a problem in the making. This problem has progressively gotten worse as the human population that relies on fish as a food resource has increased and the equipment and techniques used by the fishermen have...show more content... Some of the actions that can be taken in order to reverse the problems that overfishing has caused include: inform the public, put restrictions on catch limits, reduce bycatch, protect habitats, and enforce all new policies. The following plan lays out the steps that will occur with each action and when these actions should be taken. Action Items: Inform the public including consumers and fishermen of the problems and what can be done to make a change. Action Steps: Research and identify the long term effects that overfishing will have. Conduct interviews with both environmentalists and experts on the issue as well as fishermen in order to present both sides of the argument. Attend a city council meeting to introduce the idea and the importance of a presentation as well as schedule a time for one to be made. Present information on what overfishing is, the impact that overfishing has on the marine ecosystem and on our existence, make consumers more aware of the type and amount of fish that they eat, and actions that can be taken to reverse the problem.
