  1. ATLAS Sites Jamboree, CERN18 - 20 January, 2017 Xin Zhao, BNL BDII Turn-down and APF Auto-configXin ZhaoBrookhaven National Laboratory, USA

  2. Xin Zhao, BNL Outline • Evolution of OSG and USATLAS Information Services • Automation of APF Configuration from AGIS • (Slides content from John Hover and Brian Bockelman)

  3. Xin Zhao, BNL OSG and USATLAS Information Services Evolution • Nearing a significant milestone - the shutdown of the OSG BDII on 03-31-2017 • OSG information services • MyOSG : static site information (site registration, topology etc) • BDII  OSG Collector : dynamic information coming from HTCondor-CE. Implemented using a condor_collector plus a small web service • Space reporting goes directly from SE to AGIS • US is actively working to implement the JSON-based reporting, avoiding usage of SRM (bestman2 losing support at the end of 2017)

  4. Xin Zhao, BNL OSG and USATLAS Information Services Evolution • Remaining dependencies on OSG BDII ? • Uploading CPU numbers to WLCG REBUS • Logical CPU, physical CPU (osg-configure file) • OK for CMS not to report these numbers, as they are not really used in WLCG reports (agreed with WLCG). • Important information for WLCG reporting is HS06 number, which is available from MyOSG • OK with ATLAS not to report logical/physical CPU numbers too ?

  5. Xin Zhao, BNL Automation of APF Configuration from AGIS • Information APF wanted from AGIS • remote_queue names from USATLAS sites • Information path: CE => OSG Collector => AGIS => APF • Information path is tested successfully at BNL • CE probe code to publish to Collector since January OSG release, currently working at BNL publishing to OSG (ITB) Collector • AGIS is currently importing information from the Collector • APF AGIS Auto-configuration coding is done and works with HTCondor-CE

  6. Xin Zhao, BNL Automation of APF Configuration from AGIS • Ongoing Work (for OSG 3.3.21? ) • Straighten out OSG CE config code to clarify for admins. • Add additional attributes for APF (corecount, maxmemory, vo_type …) • USATLAS sites are recommended to upgrade to the current OSG release (3.3.20), not wait for the new changes to land in future releases.

  7. Xin Zhao, BNL Questions ?
