  1. OMG! Algebra is easy. First, an “expression” is just a number sentence. For example, if you wanted to buy the Wii games and you didn’t know how much these games cost you could show this “number expression” by writing. 3 x _The blank is there because it’s what you don’t know, the cost of each game. With algebra, instead of a blank you put a letter. It could be any letter X, Z, G… Usually the letter is the first letter of the thing you talking about. So to write an algebraic expression you would write: 3 x C. 3 because you want 3 games and C because you don’t know the Cost of each game.

  2. Mrs. Sweetland gives 3 bonus points for each extra-credit problem correctly completed. If b stands for the number of extra-credit problems correctly completed, which expression is equal to the total number of bonus points? a. b x 3 b. b + 3 C. b ÷ 3 d. b - 3 e. 3 > b I Know my answer is right because It can’t be anything else because It says 3 bonus’s b Stands for number that we don’t Know yet. Then you have the answer Witch is A. B*3

  3. Find the value of y. x - y = y x = 10 • A. 32 • B. 16 • C. 4 • D. 5 • E. 2 The answer is D.5 because x=10 and so your answer has to be D.5 10-5=5 because x-y=y There are to so they have to be the same and 10-5=5 there are 2 5’s.

  4. You know how to find the sum of the angles of a polygon. The sum of the angles for a triangle (3 sides) is 180. The sum of the angles of a quadrilateral (4 sides) is 360. The sum of the angles of a pentagon (5 sides) is 540. If “S” is the amount of sides, which expression can be used to illustrate this way of finding the sum of the angles of any polygon. • A. (S – 2) * 180 • B. S + (2 + 180) • C. 180 * S • D. (360 x 2) 45 90 45 90 You add up the angles and the sum for any triangle is 180 45 45 180

  5. 120 90 90 100 100 90 90 110 You add up the angles and the sum for any square or rectangle or 4 sided figure and the sum is 360 110 You add up the angles and the sum for any 5 sided figure and the sum is 540 90 110 The answer is 360 and 540 90 110 90 100 90 100 360 120 540

  6. 180 360 720 540 -360 180 How I got the answer is I took 540-360 to get 180 so I figured That you just take 540+180 540 540 +180 720

  7. How I got the answer is because 75 +50 125 How much fencing is needed to go around the perimeter of this yard? How I got the answer to this is the same way I got the answer to the other one. 65 +35 100

  8. How much sod is needed to cover this yard?

  9. One angle of a RIGHT triangle is 30 degrees. Which expression shows how to find the measure of the third angle? ??? 30 90 • A. 3* 180=A • 3 * 90 + 60=A • (360 / 3) - 90 • D. 180 – 90 – 30=A

  10. Thanksgiving Parade Calvin’s little brother jumped up and down. “Here they come!” shouted Calvin. Around the corner came the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Half of the people were on floats; 25% were in marching bands; clowns made up 1/8; tv stars made up 1/16; and there were 10 city officials, or 1/16. How many people were in the parade, and how many were in each group? .50 1/2 50%

  11. About how much of each hour does a radio program schedule for weather? • 1/10 • B. 2/10 • C. 3/10 • D. 5/10 • E. 10/10 How many minutes of each hour does a radio program schedule for weather?

  12. Which table of values satisfies the equation shown below?y = x +4 D. Is the correct answer because 0+4,1+4,2+4,and 3+4 Then last you get your answer.

  13. What is the value of the expression below when x = 6 and y = 2? 8x – y The answer is 46 because 8*6=48-2=46 46

  14. What’s the volume
