  3. Number One Gelato Gelato was created in Italy. It was created by Bernardo Buontalenti in 1565. There are two types of gelato. One was made in Southern Italy and the other in Northern Italy.

  4. Number Two Anisette Each cookie has about 265 calories,10.1 grams of fat, and 24 mg of cholesterol . Anise extract , powdered sugar, and milk make it’s taste.

  5. Number Three Struffoli Strufolli is glued together with honey and sometimes has lots of sprinkles. It is made to eat with coffee and made out of fried dough.

  6. Number Four Tiramisu Tiramisu became popular by a movie. It means ‘’pick me up’’ in italian. Some of the ingredients are: eggs, coffee, cocoa, and a sweet cheese called mascarpone. It is from Venice.

  7. Number Five Macedonia Macedonia is basicallyafancy fruit salad. All the fruits are cutinto cubes and put into fancy glasses or bowls. Nuts are optional.

  8. Number Six Biscotti One cookie is called biscotto and a group is called biscotti. Biscotto means twice baked. They are made with flour, sugar, eggs, and usually almonds or other nuts. Biscotti are made for dunking in coffee.

  9. Number Seven Ciarduna Ciarduna is a traditional pastry from the province of Palmero. It is an almond cookie shell filled with mascarpone or ricotta filling.

  10. Number Eight Biscuit Tortoni Biscuit Tortoni is twice baked, just like biscotti. Some of the ingredients are eggs, custard, and broken up cookies. You sprinkle on the cookies and freeze it.

  11. Number Nine Baba Babas aren’t just famous in Italy they are also famous in France and Poland. Babas are very complicated to make. Another name for it is ‘’rum cake’’.

  12. Number Ten Cannolo Siciliano The plural for cannolo is cannoli. Cannolo means ‘’little tube’’. It is a Sicilian pastry dessert. It consists of: fried pastry dough, ricotta cheese and sometimes succade (orange, lemon and lime peels.)

Ice Cream • Gelato is not sugary • It is creamy • It is not as fatty (5 to 7 percent fat) • Gelato is served warmer than ice cream • Gelato is churned at a slow speed • Ice Cream is served frozen • Ice Cream has more fat (10 to 15 percent fat) • Ice Cream is churned at a fast speed • Ice Cream has lots of sugar

  14. How Pasta Began Pasta began in China. But, a merchant named Marco Polo from Venice Italy went to China and found pasta. He brought the idea back to Venice and started making it.
