ST.AGATHA. By: Heather and Andrea. THE BEGINNING OF THE TOWN. ST.AGATHA STARTED AS A PARISH, BEFORE IT WAS GIVEN THE NAME OF THE TOWN. A CHURCH WAS BUILT IN THE SPRING OF 1890. THE ORIGINAL CHURCH BURNED IN 1940. IN 1941 ANOTHER CHURCH WAS BUILT. THE HISTORICAL HOUSE.

  2. THE BEGINNING OF THE TOWN • ST.AGATHA STARTED AS APARISH, BEFORE IT WAS GIVEN THE NAME OF THE TOWN. • A CHURCH WAS BUILT IN THE SPRING OF 1890. • THE ORIGINAL CHURCH BURNED IN 1940. • IN 1941 ANOTHER CHURCH WAS BUILT.

  3. THE HISTORICAL HOUSE • The Historical House was owned by Andre Pelletier in 1854. It had a rock foundation, low ceilings and a floor made out of wide boards. • It was insulated with buckwheat hulls. • In 1870 it had a family of 13 living in a one room house.

  4. At first, St. Agatha was part of Frenchville. • In 1899 it became a town and decided on the name of St. Agatha. • St. Agatha is at the end of Long Lake on Route 162

  5. The People of St. Agatha • The first people to settle St. Agatha were French Canadians and some Acadians. They thought this place was beautiful.

  6. FARMERS Many people started farming. Potato farms were all over. Many people had animals too.
