  2. What is Energy? • Energy is what we need to do work or cook or play.

  3. Kinetic Energy • Kinetic energy is an object that has motion. • #-throwing a base ball • #-flipping a pancake

  4. Potential Energy • Potential energy is energy that is stored away for later. When you eat that energy is stored for when you work cook or play.

  5. Chemical Energy • Chemical energy is energy that’s stored in bonds of atoms and molecules then batteries, biomass, petroleum natural gas and coal.

  6. Nuclear Energy • Nuclear energy is energy that is stored of an atom. The energy that holds the nucleus together. • Ex: An atom • Ex: A nuke has thermal energy

  7. Thermal Energy • Thermal energy is heat, vibration, or movement, atoms, nucleus within substances. • Ex: A electric tooth brush • Ex: A bouncy ball

  8. Energy Conversion • It is the process of one energy changing to another. • Ex: A mote controlled race car it charges on a stand that outlet send energy to the battery the goes into the race car

  9. Law of Conservation of Energy • The law of conservation of energy states that when a form of energy is converted to another. • We conserve energy by on object hitting another it sends that energy to the next one
