  4. GUIDE TALE “Hi! I’m your Lola So Young, the grand daughter of your great Lola Basyang. I am also fond of telling stories. Do you want to find out what makes me feel so young? Well, come with me in exploring the magic behind my secret and let yourself say… Wow! How wonderful and amazing it is! What an interesting story!”

  5. Story Level No. 1 “Not so long, I will tell you a story entitled ‘My Boy My Girl’. The Eye Family that is composed of all girls that are looking for their soul mates. And here comes the Camera Family that is composed of all boys. Can you help them determine who among the handsome Camera Family will be the soul mates of the girls belonging to the lovely Eye Family? Try to match them by connecting with a line and instead of arrowheads, try to use a small heart and put it at both ends.” GOOD LUCK!!!

  6. My girl PUPIL My boy SHUTTER My boy IRIS DIAPHRAGM My girl LENS My girl RETINA My boy APERTURE My girl EYELIDS My boy FILM My girl IRIS My boy CONVEX LENS

  7. Story Level No. 2 “Hold on your fears as we go on with this horrible story of witch Optica who was imprisoned inside the house of fear- The Witchcraft Mansion.” “Sssst… keep quite! You might be caught by the terrible soul haunters roaming around the city. They have already caught thousands of innocent souls! Would you like to be one of them? Or would you want to save them? Wait! Don’t be afraid, there’s still a chance.” The only chance of saving the city is to set free the imprisoned, powerful and kind-hearted witch Optica who has only the power to break the spell. She was betrayed by her fellow witches who aim to conquer the city. In order to set free witch Optica, you should face all the obstacles that await you in the Witchcraft Mansion.

  8. The mansion is divided into three towers. The Magnifying Lens Tower, Microscope Tower and Telescope Tower with five floors. At the doorstep of every floor, you’ll find three magic cards for you to arrange whether it belongs to the Magnifying Lens Tower, Microscope Tower and to the Telescope Tower. If you’ve done it successfully, you can now proceed to the next floor following the same procedures. You must complete the task correctly, by saying the magic words, ‘Open Sesame’, and witch Optica will then be set free. She can then save the innocent souls by breaking the spell of the wicked witches. The people of the city will then live happily ever after.” GOOD LUCK!!!

  11. Story Level No. 3 “Are you still afraid? You shouldn't be. For now, we are going to have all the suspense and actions. Don’t you know I already met the great action stars all over the world? And mind you, they are the ones who interviewed me. Below is the conversation we had. But now, it is incomplete for I leave blank spaces for you to fill in. All you have to do is to make a wild guess that suits the question they are asking for. You can choose your answers by using the weapon available below. Let’s see if we have the same answers. Ready?! 12. Jackie Chan: In the field of Biology what do students use to learn about algae, protozoa, and other one-celled organisms? Granny So Young:_______________ Arnold Schwarzenneger: How about in the study of moon, stars, and other heavenly bodies? What instrument are we going to use? Granny So Young:_______________ Jet Li: Have you noticed what the detectives often bring when they are doing investigations in a crime scene? What do you call this useful thing? Granny So Young: _______________ Van Damme: How about in battles? Do you know the thing that soldiers use to spy their enemies? Granny So Young: ______________ Steven Seagal: In forensic Science, this thing is used to analyze hair, fabric, and other materials found in the crime scene. What is this? Granny So Young: ______________

  13. Bruce Willis: How about the thing that the archaeologist often use in examining fossils? Granny So Young: ________________ Nicole Kidman: Have you watched the movie TITANIC? What instrument did they use for navigation? Granny So Young: ________________ Brad Pitt: Have you remembered the instrument that the doctors use in examining blood test? It magnifies inner structure of blood such as plasma, white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets Granny So Young: ________________ Jennifer Garner: Suppose you are in an island and everything you have in your bag is optical instrument. Which of the instruments are you going to use to produce fire in a hot sunny day? Granny So Young: ________________

  14. ASSESSMENT TALE Do you enjoy listening to my story? See?! How adventurous is it, right? Well, we are now going to assess your level of development and we are going to ask Mr. Caterpillar for some favor that will give us some challenges about the stories we encountered in the activities. “ You are going to put the missing word In my body. All you have to do is to choose the letter from the leaves which you think are the answers to the questions that follow.” 4___ 6___ 7___ 3___ 1___ 5___ 2___

  17. INCREDIBLE ENRICHMENT TALES “Welcome to the part wherein I prepare something special for you to do my dear listeners/readers. Now, I will let you answer this online treasure hunt to enhance your knowledge about lenses. Fill in the table with the required information. Get the information from the web resources given. http://www.tiscali.co.uk/reference/encyclopaedia/hutchinson/m0031043.html http://www.play-hookey.com/optics/lens_convex.html http://optical-components.globalspec.com/Industrial-Directory/convex_concave_lens http://library.thinkquest.org/28160/english/lenses/lenses.html

  18. REFERENCE TALE The similarities and differences between the human eye and camera: SIMILARITIES: * Both use convex lenses. * The human eye changes the shape of its lens when focusing on near or far objects. In a camera, the lens is moved back and fort as distance from the object is varied. * The image formed on the retina of the normal eye and on the film of the camera are both smaller and inverted. DIFFERENCES: * The human eye can easily change focus from about 25 cm. to a great distance. It can form moving or stationary and colored or black and white images without changing films or equipment. It can adjust to dim or bright light through the cones and rods as the retina. Finally, it produces images without the need for developing and printing. A limitation however is that the camera produces a permanent image of the object whereas the eye cannot.

  19. MAGNIFYING GLASS - is a large convex lens commonly used to examine small objects. The lens bends incoming light so that an enlarged and virtual image of the object appears beyond it. The image is called virtual because it is only perceived by the viewer’s brain, and cannot be produced on the screen. MICROSCOPE - formed by two convex lens. The object lens is positioned close to the object to be viewed. It forms an upside down and magnified image called a real image because the light rays actually pass through the place where the image lies. The ocular or eyepiece lens, acts as the magnifying glass for this real image. The ocular lens makes the light rays spread more so that they appear to form a large inverted image beyond the object lens. Because the light rays, do not actually pass through this location, the image is a virtual image.

  20. TELESCOPE - two types of lenses are used in a telescope. The first one is a very large lens that collects a large amount of light from a far away object. This is the objective lens. It has a very long focal length because the object distance, which may be anywhere from a few kilometers up to billions or trillions of kilometers, is much greater than the image distance. The objective lens forms the object’s first real, inverted and diminished image. It has a short focal length. It acts like a magnifying lens for the image cast by the objective lens. The eyepiece lens is closer to the eye. It forms a final, virtual, and enlarged image. REFERENCES: 2004. Physics: Science and Technology Textbook for 4thYear Revised edition. Q.C. 21. “ Now you already know what makes me feel so young! It’s because of all the stories I’ve told. It makes me think I am one of those characters mentioned in my story. And these will not be possible without these important things that I have, THEY ARE MY LENSES! I cannot make stories without these. Bye-bye my dear listeners/readers. See you next time for our next adventure!”

  22. THE END Thank You!!!
