DECISIONS: Life is all about choices. What do we often base our decisions on?. Who do we ask to help us make decisions?. Depends on the situation. You would want to ask someone who you believe will give you good advice. People to ask may include: parents, siblings, teacher, mentor, etc .

  3. Who do we ask to help us make decisions? • Depends on the situation. You would want to ask someone who you believe will give you good advice. • People to ask may include: parents, siblings, teacher, mentor, etc.

  4. Empowered: The means to be inspired because a person feels some control over behavior and decisions. • Peer pressure: People of similar age or status place on others to encourage them to make certain decisions.

  5. Decision-making styles • Inactive: Person fails to make a choice and has no control over the decision. • Reactive: Based on peer-pressure. • Responsible: Thinks before you act and looks at all of the possible outcomes.

  6. Help guide your decisions: • Safe ? • Ethical ? • Legal ?

  7. Decision Making Skills • Each day you are making decisions that effect your health and safety • These steps/skills enable you to make healthful decisions • These steps are designed to help make decisions that protect your rights and health as well as others rights and their well-being • Do Now: What goals have you set for yourself in this class? What steps do you need to do to reach them?
