  3. Funding Condition • The first funding closed at the end of 2003. • Research work has been interrupted during almost whole 2004 • New funding started from the last Oct. 2004 2005

  4. Build a Application-oriented Grid • Because • Grid have been accepted as important information utilization and serving technology. • Grid research works have been taken widely in the past two years. • Many grid tools and grid demo systems have been finished. => Feasibility

But • It is difficult to configure a original data source to be grid services. • It is also difficult to add new spatial processing software to be gird-useful services. • It is still not easy to mine right data form grid data resources. • Even to build a Grid environment is a very professional operation. => Problem in use

  6. So we will do: • Feasibility -> Usability. • Build a Application-oriented Grid Environment. • Grid container • In SIG, will use uniform grid container as basic middleware and protocols. • Grid Gateway • Bring in-LAN resource to be a node of Grid in form of some services.

  8. SIG Container • Version 0.1 will be published at this month • Tomcat -Web Application Container • Axis -Web Service Container • Globus -WSRF Service Container • UDDI -as a web application, connection to UDDI center

Willpublish at July,2005 • SIG Container Version 1.0 will include: • Tomcat -Web Application Container • Axis -Web Service Container • Globus4 -WSRF Service Container • UDDI -as a web application • CA -a application • SFT -high performance gird file protocol • Workflow - as a web application • Workflow building - as a java swing application • Trading -tools • Version -tools to control SIG Container version

SIG Grid Gatway • Remote sensing processing node gateway • Cluster-based Parallel Remote sensing image process node (PIPS2005 by RSGS,CAS) • Other themes processing resource (by IRSA,CAS) • Contract with commercial software to build their SIG middleware. (SuperMap) • Spatial Data server node gateway • Data service related node • Data Format Transfer Service • Catalogue Offline Service • Data Mining Service

  11. China Grid Portal of Scientific Spatial Data(CGDP) • Working for Chinese scientific research • Collection high-quality free EO-data • Access mode: web service and SIG • in Chinese and English • Data Gateway between outside and inside china • Will be found in the end of this year
