The African American Day CouncilPresentsThe Alice Faye Kent Hoppes Legislative Statewide Essay Contest 2007 • The purpose of the Alice Faye Kent Hoppes Legislative Statewide Scholarship Essay Contest is to provide recognition and financial support to those graduating seniors who want to make sure that the work Alice began, continues. Students who wish to compete in the essay contest need to send their application packets to the following address: Joycelyn Jackson, Chairperson, Alice Faye Kent Hoppes Legislative Statewide Scholarship Essay Contest 2007, African American Day Council, P.O. Box 80251, Albuquerque NM 87198-0251, 505-881-9429 x 800078, Fax: 505-872-8859. • All application packets will be due on or before Friday, January 5, 2007. • Scholarship awards will be presented February 9, 2007 at which time we will be celebrating the Fifth African American Day at the New Mexico State Legislature. • The “Roundhouse” program will start at 9 a.m. and go thru 4 p.m. Everyone is cordially invited to this historical program in Santa Fe.
