BNT 2005-2009 creating safe, stable, healthy homes Affordable Housing Development 71 units developed 24 units in our development pipeline Homeownership Counseling 754 households counseled 150 homes purchased by participants 66 households mortgage-ready to purchase Creating Healthy Homes 362 lead-safe units created Over 6,000 children under the age of 6 tested for lead poisoning

The Need for Healthy Homes In Bridgeport, 88% of homes were built before 1980, when lead paint was legal and 46% of homes were built before 1950, when lead paint was prevalent. 4% of children in Bridgeport under age 6 have been found to have elevated lead levels. This is more than three times the state average.
