Aer Lingus International Hurling Festival • Festival Towns • Hurling Festival Committee are in Place, Comprising of Chamber of Commerce, Town Commissions, Local Hotel, Cultural \ Musical and Dance Groups, GAA Clubs, Local Media and other interested groups. • They will create a unique Irish Welcome, Festival Atmosphere and Irish experience for all Overseas teams, supporters and visitors
Aer Lingus International Hurling Festival • Galway GAA Clubs • 16 Local GAA Clubs will participate in the Hurling Festival, by twinning with one of the overseas teams, building long lasting relationships and links with an Overseas GAA unit. • Participate in the Aer Lingus U-13 Hurling Tournament • Actively involved in providing Cultural events / Entertainment, and visits to places of interest at local level • Engage with local Festival Committees • At Regional Level, make available club facilities to Overseas team and for local underage tournament
Aer Lingus International Hurling Festival • Galway County Board • Facilitate the setting up of a Competitions Committee, consisting of key experienced Galway personal, that would assist in the running of both the Adult International Hurling Tournament and the Local Underage Hurling Tournament. - Facilitate the provision of GAA Grounds at regional level on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th of September, and the use of Pearse Stadium Main Pitch and Side pitch on Saturday 21st September 2013. • Facilitate the provision of Referee / Linesmen / Umpires for the tournament games.
Aer Lingus International Hurling Festival Proposed Festival Itinerary Tuesday 17th September: • Long Haul Teams will be arriving into some of the Galway Regional Towns Wednesday 18th September: - Short Haul Teams will be arriving into some of the Galway Regional Towns • 7:00pm – Official Start of International Hurling Festival - Welcoming Reception for Overseas Teams at each of the four regional Towns and Host Hotels
Aer Lingus International Hurling Festival Proposed Festival Itinerary Thursday 19th September • 2:00pm - 1st Round of qualifying games played at the regional town Venues • 6:00pm - Parade of all hurling festival overseas teams and host club underage teams, through the streets of Loughrea, cumulating in official opening ceremony from main street podium, followed by music dance and entertainment. • 9:00pm - Entertainment in festival regional hotels for overseas teams, host clubs / local Festival committees and overseas visitors
Aer Lingus International Hurling Festival Proposed Festival Itinerary Friday 20th September • 9:00am – Visits to “Places of Interest” at the festival regional venues • 3:00pm - 2nd Round of qualifying games played at the regional Venues • 5:00pm – 3rd Round of qualifying games played at the regional Venues • 9:00pm - Entertainment in festival regional hotels for overseas teams, host clubs / local Festival committees and overseas visitors

Aer Lingus International Hurling Festival Proposed Festival Itinerary Gala Closing Ceremony • 7:00pm – Bailey Allen Hall (NUIG) • Meet / Greet Entertainers from Car Park to Bailey Allen Entrance • Drinks reception on Arrival • Food served in Bailey Allen main hall • Prize Giving Ceremony and Closing Speeches • Traditional Music / Dance at three venue locations
Aer Lingus International Hurling Festival • Aer Lingus / Etihad: • Will Provide to a travelling party of 25 Persons (21 Players & 4 Officials) • Inbound / Outbound Flights • Destinations serviced / Flight times will be circulated on April 1st • Bus Service for the Duration of the Festival • Transfers from Airports to Galway / Return • Transfers from Hotel to Training Facilities / Matches / official functions • Hotel Accommodation for the Duration of Festival • Medical / Physiotherapy Assistance • One full playing Kit will be provided to each Team • Kit cleaning services will be available at each location
Aer Lingus International Hurling Festival • Overseas Teams: • Will be Required to • Provide Names and Details of full travelling party by April 8th • Provide evidence of their own travel insurance and adhere to the hurling festival charter • Make travel arrangements to their own appointed home Airport, at appointed “Check In Time” • Attend in full all official festival events • Assist in the promotion of the Hurling Festival in their Home Country • Provide a Liaison Person for all official contacts • Provide a Social Media Contact person, to provide information for the population of the Aer Lingus Hurling Festival Web Site and Face book Page
