Candidate must possess excellent human relations skills, good organizational and communication skills and have a science background.   16. Formatting & Appearance • An effective resume should be easy to read, logical in layout, and highlight relevant information • Be consistent • Place the most relevant info on top, or at left or in bold • Make good use of white space • 1 page • (2 pages is allowed depending upon experience)

  19. Reviewing & Refining • Check: addresses, phone numbers, zip codes, etc. and all capitalized words • Give it to someone who knows you well for review • Friend • Family member • Have it critiqued by Career Services
