FINANCIAL & DAY-TO-DAY • Structure of you day is much more flexible • What you can gain financially is somewhat limitless • Uncertainty with paychecks • Additional costs of office expenses, staff, etc. • Limits to the structure of your day depending on the organization • Limits to salary & bonuses; glass ceiling (dependent on industry and organization) • Paychecks more consistent • Costs usually pre-determined… commuting, business attire, etc. ALSO HEALTH BENEFITS & TAX DIFFERENCES.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL SET • Specific communication skills •  Diverse industry knowledge • Usually work with one to three key contacts for most projects- More interpersonal communication • Significant amount of time and skills dedicated to managing business • Diverse communication skills •  Industry specific knowledge • Continuously working with multiple stakeholders, internal and external- More organizational and group communication • Business details can be left to others with more substantial skill sets in those areas, e.g. accounting
