APAFT  Australian Public Affairs Full Text  Periodical & Newspaper Articles to the social policy, humanities, current events. 
16. Scope
APAIS is a subject index to scholarly articles in the social sciences and humanities published in Australia, and to selected periodical articles, conference papers, book and newspaper articles on Australian economic, social, political and cultural affairs.
APAIS has been compiled by the National Library since 1945. Print volumes were produced from 1945 to 2000. Online coverage is 1978+ and consists of over 325,000 records, with about 12,000 new articles being indexed annually.
An enhanced version of the APAIS database, Australian Public Affairs Full Text (APAFT), is available via subscription as part of the Informit Online service from RMIT Publishing. Researchers in the National Library's Reading Rooms can access APAFT through the NLA's Indexes and Databases.
