This PowerPoint presentation by Will Wilson aims to raise awareness about the dangers trash poses to our environment. Every day, millions of items like cell phones, styrofoam, and batteries are discarded, many of which do not decompose. For instance, over 130 million cell phones enter the U.S. waste stream annually, posing serious risks due to potential mercury and arsenic leakage. It emphasizes the importance of recycling and encourages people to utilize resources like electronics recycling programs offered at various stores. Special thanks to Mrs. Rummell, classmates, and LPMS for their support.

Decomposing Waste!!! By Will Wilson
Purpose • The purpose of my power point is to make people understand the harm that garbage does to the environment!!! • Millions of pieces of trash are thrown into the ocean and landfills every day. Now it doesn’t seem that bad but the problem is that some of this trash does not decompose. Here are some examples:
Examples • Cell Phones • Styrofoam • Batteries • Computers • Ipods, MP3 players • TVs, DVD players, • Stereos
Facts!! • More than 130 Million Cell Phones enter the U.S. waste stream each year. These phones don’t seem harmful, but they have a potential to leak mercury, Cadmium, and arsenic. • Most electronic stores such as Best Buy, And the apple store have inside recycling for broken electronics!
THANKS!!! • I would like to thank Mrs. Rummell and most of my classmates for encouraging me to write this power point and helping the environment. • I would also like to thank LPMS for providing the computer that was used to make this power point!!!
