HISTORIA • La palabra FÚQUENE está compuesta por Fu – Quyny, que quiere decir “LECHO DE LA ZORRA” o lecho del dios FO o FU, a quien se le rendia culto en la isla grande de la laguna de Fúquene, que en época de la conquista española se manejaba como refugio indigena • FECHA FUNDACION: 06 de noviembre de 1638 • FUNDADOR: GABRIEL CARVAJAL

  3. GEOGRAFIA • Límites del municipio: Limita con Ubaté, Susa , Guacheta y el departamento de Boyacá • Altitud de la cabecera municipal (metros sobre el nivel del mar): 2750 • Temperatura media: 13º C • Distancia de referencia: Bogotá, 116 kmts

  4. ECONOMIA • principales actividades son la Ganadería, procesamiento de productos lácteos, y la agricultura de productos como la arveja, Papa, Maíz, Tomate, y Frutas como la Fresa
