  2. ¿ QUE BUSCA CALIFORNIA EN LAS NUEVAS VARIEDADES? • Alternativas a la var. Chandler. • llegar antes a mercado, mediante var. de cosecha temprana. • Hábito de crecimiento reducido y con angulos abierto. • Fructificación lateral. • Entrada precoz y alta productividad. ( superior a 5 ton/ha) • Obtención de máximos rendimiento en menor tiempo. • Mayor rendimiento de pulpa. • Valores de la relación pulpa/cáscara superior al 50%. (CH) • Coloración clara de pulpa. • Similar o superior a chandler.

UC 61-25 (Pn y Tñ) X Chico (Pn). • Precoz. • Brotación: 5 días antes que chandler. • Protoginea. • fructificación lateral. • Baja insedencia de peste negra (pseudomona). • Cosecha: cercana a chandler. • Polinizadores potenciales: Payne, Vina, Serr y Sexton. • Nuez: oval a redondeada. Textura media. Buen sellado y fuerte. • Semilla: 9 grs., buen color (L y EL). 54% rendimiento. • Vigor: medio, entre Sexton y Guillet. • Buen comportamiento en la zona Norte.

Buen sellado y firme. Cáscara fácil de remover. • Semilla: 8,2 grs. 50% rendimiento. • Árbol: mas vigoroso de las 3 var. • Buen comportamiento en la zona Norte y Sur de California.

Buen sellado y firme. Cáscara fácil de remover. • Semilla: 8-9 grs. 50% rendimiento. • Árbol:canopia densa. Reiteradas podas. Segunda floración.

Se esta plantando chandler, tulare y howard. • NIGUNA DE LAS VAR. NUEVAS PRESENTAN UNA ALTERNATIVA CONCRETA A LA VARIEDAD CHANDLER. • VARIEDADES COMO IVANHOE Y TULARE SE VEN INTERESANTES EN LA BUSQUEDA DE NUEVAS ALTERNATIVAS PARA LA ZONA NORTE DEL PAIS.
