FIU LGBTQA Services that S.A.V.E. our Student • Student Support • Student 1-1 counseling • Student Scholarships • Mentors Program • Advisement of students groups on campus • Awareness • Community Outreach: Miami Dade Public Schools & Safe Schools South Florida Diversity Days • Awareness programs and workshops: LGBT 101 • Campus policies and procedures: Transgender Restrooms, gender inclusion etc. • Safe Zone program • Clearinghouse for University wide initiatives and programs • Visibility • Signature events both on and off campus: FIU Contingency for the Miami Gay Pride Parade and resource table, supported the Point Foundation Cornerstone event, Community Sponsor for the Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. • Initiated FIU’s Pronoun Campaign • Education • State Leadership Conference • Lavender Graduation • Programs and Services • Queer Studies Certificate Program
