  2. Challenge of the Week – Follow Up Does anyone want to share an experience where they met their challenge from our lesson on self-esteem? Everyone needed to replace negative thoughts about themselves with positive thoughts. How did you do?

  3. Preparation • Materials Needed: • Access to internet. • Login to: http://www.havefunteaching.com/songs/character-songs/respect-song/ • Chalkboard, whiteboard, or easel with paper. • Classroom Setup: • Sit at desk.

  4. The Activity • Play the Respect song on the internet page. • Write on the board, “What does respect mean to me?” • Ask students to write their ideas on the board. • Discuss answers as a class.

  5. The Object of the Lesson Points instructor needs to bring out: • We can show respect to ourselves, to others, and to things. • As we show respect to others it develops our self-esteem and our web strengthens. • Showing respect to others will build strong relationships and webs between one another. • Respecting things around us will help make the world a better place. Respecting buildings, the earth, our school, our homes and other property make it a better place for everyone to live. • As our web gets stronger, so does our class, school and community.

  6. Challenge for the Week Do a daily good deed to a friend, family member, teacher, neighbor, etc. Notice how doing a good deedmakes you feel. Report back next week.
