Modelling tool • To allow you to consider output selections and effect on quality profile • To allow you to consider the guiding questions for Output Selection in the Code of Practice • To be aware if you are compliant with REF output regulations • To consider the possible impact/environment profile and how the overall profile might be

REF2021 Submission system/Symplectic • Awaiting full details of the REF2021 Submission system • Symplectic – improved functionality to directly link to the REF2021 submission system for staff and outputs • Symplectic upgrade in August 2019 • Autumn: DoRs to use Symplectic for outputs/staff • Impact: will be uploaded directly into the REF2021 Submission system

Independent Researchers • 29th May: Lists with DoRsR-Only contracts at Grade F and above • 24th June: Deadline for return Early returns appreciated and please ensure the ADR has reviewed it • June: R-only staff/outputs added to modelling tool when eligibility is confirmed • July: University notifies those who meet the REF2021 definition; invited to completed Individual Circumstances Form and to agree with DoR when to nominate outputs • July: Others invited to submit information to the Open Process

Deadlines – June/July 2019 UoA Deadlines OUTPUTS ASAP:Indicative grades STAFF 24th June: Independent Researcher lists ENVIRONMENT 31st July: Submit first draft environment template REF team Deadlines OUTPUTS ASAP: Release modelling tool STAFF ASAP: Circulate Individual Circumstances form July: Circulate Independent researcher forms/confirmation ENVIRONMENT June: RM19 template for overview – “concerns, risks etc.,” Early July: circulated collated information for institutional environment template
