Chaitra Amavasya Vrat is dedicated to the goddess Chitra, and is observed on the Amavasya, or no-moon day of the Hindu month of Chitra. The rituals associated with the vrat include fasting, prayer and a special puja. It is believed that observing Amavasaya Vrat brings good luck, prosperity and success.
