Background • President signed bill on September 26, 2006. • The law mandates the creation of a searchable website for the public to search funding by data elements. Public must be able to: • Ascertain amount of Federal funding awarded to an entity • Download results of search
Current Data Submission • 26 Agencies have submitted data • Data Quality Metrics: • Timeliness of data provided by each agency • % of total agency data currently reported and available • Available Spring 2008: • Accuracy of agency data Percentage of data currently available by agency
Current Status • OMB issued final guidance for input • New guidance issued by OMB on March 6, 2008 details operational guidelines and details • Grants data to be submitted in FAADS Plus Format • FY07 data was submitted by November 30, 2007 • Submit to usaspending@gsa.gov • FTP alternate file submission procedure • Email usaspending@gsa.gov • Subject Line “Transparency Act FTP Request” • Provide two points of contact: • FAADS Quarterly submission unchanged • Grant Sub-Awards definition being finalized for Federal Register
