  2. The CATH database is designed to be automated. Class – mainly alpha, mainly beta, alpha+beta, mainly unstructured Architecture – same 3D arrangement of secondary structure with no reference to their order. Topology – same 3D arrrangementof secondary structure and order. The 3D core of the topology can be decorated with other secondary structures. Homology – a superfamily of domains that have high sequence similarity (>30%) and a discernible evolutionary linkage.
