  2. The following values reflect recommended settings. Please ensure your course achieves its desired results by testing it locally through ADL’s SCORM Conformance Test Suite ( found at www.adl.gov/scorm ) *these settings are based on Presenter recommended settings and have not undergone extensive testing. To access the screens shown below: With your project open in Captivate, select File>Publish. Then click the “Preferences” button on the Publish dialog window. In the Preferences window, select “Quiz”. Please note the following slide for instructions on calculating the “Slide View Completion” percentage.

  3. Calculating “Slide View Completion” percent. • Due to a bug inherent to Breeze, the last slide will never be considered viewed by Breeze’s completion percentage calculation. It is believed this bug may also exist in Adobe Captivate. Therefore, the following method must be applied to calculate the completion percentage: • Take the total number of slide minus 1, divided by the total number of slides in your presentation, including the last slide. • Multiple the result by 100 to get the completion percent. • Because Breeze a) only allows whole numbers without decimals in the Slide View Completion field and b) completion • percentage is calculated at the launch of each slide, you’ll need to round up the answer to the next highest number. In • situations where the result is a whole number without a decimal, add 1 to the result. • Please see the following examples. • A presentation with 45 slides: • (Number of slides-1)/(Number of Slides) = 44/45 = 97.7% • Round up 97.7% to 98% • A presentation with 30 slides: • (Number of slides-1)/(Number of Slides) = 29/30 = 96.6% • Round up 96.6% to 97% • A presentation with 10 slides • (Number of slides-1)/(Number of Slides) = 9/10 = 90.0% • Because 90.0% is a whole number, add 1 to make the completion percent 91% • A presentation with 50 slides: • (Number of slides-1)/(Number of Slides) = 49/50 = 98.0% • Because 98.0% is a whole number, add 1 to make the completion percent 99% • A presentation with 6 slides: • (Number of slides-1)/(Number of Slides) = 5/6 = 83.3% • Round up 83.3% to 84% • The only exception would be in the case where you wished completion to be marked upon launch of the presentation. Then, regardless of the number of slides, the Slide View Completion percent would be 0%
