General comments on proposal • Motivation: why is it ‘needed’ & how it can be used (even beyond the project) • Include summary of the approach & brief intro before the related work • List the ‘challenges’ (why is this hard & cannot be performed using existing work) • List potential contributions • Justify every step/choice you make (why?)

Related work: - positioning of the work is V IMP • What is to be borrowed (potentially) • What’s new & in what way is it new (qualitatively compared to other works) • Include proper citations and references throughout (check conference and journal papers for format) • Body: provide a framework; break down the project into components • What makes you in a position to address the challenges? • Leverage existing resources to get ‘an edge’ over existing work (e.g., iTrust open source code, traces, data-driven analysis and insight, specific knowledge about social behavior, on campus life, etc.)
