What is the Collaborative Nursing Education Continuum Model (CNECM)? • SSU’s ADN to BSN program is called the Post-licensure BSN program • The CNECM is a track into the Post-Licensure Program • The CNECM is an “early start” to Upper Division Nursing coursework toward the BSN.   • Current first semester-first year ADN students enrolled at CNECM partners apply while in their ADN program

  4. Who is eligible for admission? Current first semester* ADN students, with a Spring graduation date,enrolled in one of the following CNECM partner programs: -Santa Rosa Junior College -College of Marin -Napa Valley College -Solano Community College -Mendocino College  • Students must be in good standing in their ADN program • Students must meet both SSU and Nursing Department Admissions Criteria *Note: Students enrolled in the second, third or fourth semester of their ADN program are not eligible to apply.

  6. Other requirements before starting in fall 2020 Meet all immunization, CPR, drug screening and background check requirements Possess a unencumbered California RN license before fall courses

CNECM Program Timeline 1st Summer 2019 - 4 unit online course • Spring 2020 graduate w/ADN 2nd Summer 2020 - 4 unit online course • pass NCLEX by August 15th 2020 Fall 2020 – 11* units of coursework Spring 2021 – 11* units of coursework May 2021 – graduate with BSN! *Note: Students who already have a BA/BS, need to complete only 8 units in Fall & Spring semesters

  8. What if I already have a Bachelors in another field? You will not have to take the 6 units of upper division GE, so you will have a lighter load Fall and Spring at SSU (8 units in stead of 11 units) CSU has a higher tuition cost for Post Baccalaureate (‘Second Bachelors’ students), once matriculated (Fall 2020 enrollment)

  9. Application Information for Summer 2019 CNECM Admission Application period is November 1st 2018 to January 23rd 2019 • online application (Nursing CAS) will be on SSU Nursing homepage Nov 1st Start in Summer 2019 (after 1st year of your ADN program)

  10. Are the classes online? • All courses are online with the exception the clinical portion of N412. • Online courses have scheduled mandatory on campus sessions once or twice each semester. Some courses have scheduled synchronous online interactive sessions (via Zoom) • The schedule of all required on campus meetings and online collaboration sessions is posted 8 weeks before the semester starts. Clinical orientations are posted 3 weeks before the start of the semester

  11. Is there clinical in this program? Yes, the N412P Community/Public Health Nursing Practicum is a 2 unit clinical course that students take in fall or spring. Students are in an assigned clinical site one day a week (Monday through Friday) for one semester.There are no options for weekend or night clinical rotations Clinical sites are within the University’s service area of Sonoma, Napa, Solano, Marin, Lake, or Mendocino counties. This course qualifies our BSN graduates to apply for a California Public Health Nurse certificate (PHN).

  12. What is the cost of tuition? The costs listed here are estimates, fee’s are subject to change 1st Summer 4 units $1700 2nd Summer 4 units $1700 Fall Full time 8-12 units $3862 Spring Full time 8-12 units $3862 Total $11,124 Enrollment Fees Disclaimer:  Fees shown are estimated based on projected amounts (as of 2/28/18), however, are subject to change per university policy.  The enrollment fees are included here for reference only.   Second baccalaureate students pay higher fee ($4579) per semester after the Summer N313 course and do not need UDGE courses. Additional costs not included above are: application fees, Certified Background Check, text books, computer with current software, internet access, nursing badge and travel to and from university and clinical site. *UDGE enrollment in winter intersession and summer terms can alter the costs.

What can I do to improve my chances of admission? • have plan to complete all SSU lower division GE transfer requirements by fall 2020 • meet both University and Department Admission criteria   • informative and authentic response to the short essay question • remain in good standing in your ADN program • submit application and pay fee’s before deadline

  16. How to use your ADN- SSU BSN Roadmap Find your ADN – SSU BSN Roadmap http://web.sonoma.edu/nursing/bsn-post/adn-bsn_roadmaps.html All lower division GE transfer courses and your Statistics course must be completed before starting full time enrollment in fall 2020

  17. On your college Roadmap review the BSN Transfer requirements in BSN Requirement column. Discuss your plan to complete these requirements with your community college advisor *SRJC is used as an example, consult your own college's Roadmap
