  1. Happy Mother's Day For A Great Mom

  2. A Heart Just like Mom I May not pray often, and I may not pray enoughbut when I do, this is all I ask of you..God please give me a heart just like hersShe loves unconditionally, no matter what, no matter who..God give me courage to be like herShe's very brave, she makes me unafraid..God give me wisdom just like hersShe knows everything, big and small, she's there to help through it all..God give me strength just like hersShe's been knocked down, yet she stands strong for another round..God give me beauty just like hersWhen she smiles it gives me that feeling that everything will be okay, and all my problems disappear for awhile....God give me generosity just like hersShe helps the helpless, she never thinks of herself and she's so un-selfish....God- someday, if I'm at least half the mom she was to me, I'll know that you were listening On the day that I prayed.

  3. Mother's Day History The earliest history of Mothers Day dates back to the ancient annual spring festival the Greeks dedicated to maternal goddesses. The Greeks used the occasion to honor Rhea, wife of Cronus and the mother of many deities of Greek mythology. Ancient Romans, too, celebrated a spring festival, called Hilaria dedicated to Cybele, a mother goddess. It may be noted that ceremonies in honour of Cybele began some 250 years before Christ was born. The celebration made on the Ides of March by making offerings in the temple of Cybele lasted for three days and included parades, games and masquerades. The celebrations were notorious enough that followers of Cybele were banished from Rome. Early Christians celebrated a Mother's Day of sorts during the festival on the fourth Sunday of Lent in honor of the Virgin Mary, the Mother of Christ. In England the holiday was expanded to include all mothers. It was then called Mothering Sunday.
