This document summarizes the key discussions and frameworks presented at the Consortium Meeting held in Berlin on November 13-14, 2013. Led by Sven Rasmussen, Klaus Vilstrup Pedersen, and Jack Verhoosel, the meeting focused on defining architectural building blocks and their roles in creating reusable components across business and IT capabilities. Participants explored high-level building blocks, solution architectures, specifications, and standards for successful implementation. The importance of services, methodologies, and security in delivering reliable architecture frameworks was emphasized.

Consortium Meeting (Berlin) Sven Rasmussen, Klaus Vilstrup Pedersen and Jack Verhoosel 13-14 Nov 2013 Building Blocks
Definitions • High Level Building Block (Foundation Architecture) Generic building blocks, their inter-relationships with other building blocks, combined with the principles and guidelines that provide a foundation on which more specific architectures can be built. • Building Block: Represents a (potentially re-usable) component of business, IT, or architectural capability that can be combined with other building blocks to deliver architectures and solutions. Building Blocks
Definitions • Architectural Building Block - Specifications and Standards (specifications) of Building Blocks • Solution Building Block - Sample Design and/or Software Component that is an implementation of (part of) an Architectural Building Block. A sample Design and/or Software Component is conformant to (part of) the ABB specification. Building Blocks
