This research initiative aims to address the challenges of urban growth by promoting integrated planning and infrastructure development in Australia's cities. By harnessing research and emerging technologies, the project aims to develop new products and services, improve productivity, reduce congestion, and boost international competitiveness. The Future Cities CRC involves various stakeholders including industry, government, utilities, universities, and research providers.

Meeting the challenge of Urban Growth + Our big cities are growing in area which puts stress on infrastructure, service delivery and the environment More than 11 million extra people will need accommodation in Australia to 2050 – Double the average growth rate across the OECD. Experienced governance and management teams to deliver research with impacts • Governance by an experienced board and management team with proven expertise, and knowledge of industry, research and government. • Constituted as a not-for-profit companylimited by guarantee, governed by an independent skills-based board selected by the members of the CRC. • A Research Advisory Committee, with a mix of independent and participant members, will review research project proposals submitted by members, and provide recommendations to the board. • Structured participation arrangements tiered for effective collaboration: • 8 Major partners contributing ≥$1.6m sign as Core Participant members with full voting rights. • 43 Partners contributing at least $0.25m sign-up as Supporting Participants, represented through the Industry Advisory Council (IAC). • The Industry Advisory Council (IAC), will provide the forum to engage all end- users. • All Participants supported by an experienced Partner Engagement Manager. • Focused stakeholder sub-groups will be created to maximise engagement
