Guidelines for Discussion • Read the story carefully prior to the discussion. • Discuss only the text everyone has read. • Support your ideas with evidence from the text. • Be respectful of others’ ideas. • Listen to others’ ideas carefully. • Expect the discussion leader to ONLY ask questions.

Rules • Only 1 person may talk at a time. • Be respectful to others’ ideas. • Listen when someone is talking. • Raise your hand if you want to share something. • Tell us what page you are using so that we can all turn to that page. • Keep your hands and eyes where they need to be. • Participate.
