  2. Scattered Genesis 11:6-9

  3. Genesis 11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

  4. Unified Humanity without God is Sin.

  5. Genesis 3:8And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. Since the fall of Adam, mankind has been out of fellowship with God and has henceforth pursued his own ambitions. Isaiah 53:6a All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; We are all guilty of building towers to ourselves.

  6. Gen 11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. Exodus 34:14 for you shall not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God We must never forget the exclusiveness of our relationship with God

Speech is the great bridge between God with man and man with man but only God/Man relationship can truly communicate without words Confound their language • Rom 8:26 In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words

  8. Don’t be surprised why some things we aspire to do fail Psalms 33:10The LORD nullifies the counsel of the nations; He frustrates the plans of the peoples. Job 5:12 “He frustrates the plotting of the shrewd, So that their hands cannot attain success:13 “He captures the wise by their own shrewdness, And the advice of the cunning is quickly thwarted.

  9. Gen 11:9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth. The condition of man may seem unified in some outside areas but scattered at the heart and he is totally incapable of salvation without a redeemer.

  10. All Humanity is Lost, Scattered and in desperate need of a savior! Isaiah 53:6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

  11. Only Jesus Christ desires and can restore lost man back to God Luke 19:10 “for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

  12. Matthew 9:36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

  13. Matthew14:14 And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.

  14. Matthew 15:32 Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”

  15. Mark 6:34 And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things.

  16. Romans 5:10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

  17. This how God wants us unified Acts 2:1And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.:2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. :4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

  18. In Closing • Scattering of people and confusion of languages is the result of God’s jealous love towards us because of our desire to exclude him from our lives. The reality is that we are utterly lost and only Jesus can restore us to right standing. Let those who have not accepted Jesus as LORD be saved and reconciled once and for all!
