Daily Outline • Day 1- Discuss a human in infancy and a butterfly’s egg • Talk about the similarities and differences through making a VenDiagram • Day 2- Discuss the second phase of a butterfly and humans life, Childhood and caterpillar • Add to Ven Diagram • Day 3- Discuss the third stages of cocoon and Teenage years and add to the Ven Diagram. • Cut and paste butterfly and human life cycle work sheets. • Day 4- Talk about butterfly and adult and add to Ven Diagram. • Discuss different types of butterflys that live around where we live. • Make a paper plate butterfly and have the children decorate it as one of the butterflies that live in our region. • Day 5- Give each of the children a monarch butterfly egg. Put them all in the cage properly. Take Spelling test. Watch movie.
Daily Technology Uses Day 1- Add daily activities to Wiki for the week and send letter home encouraging parents to check it. Day 2- Use the ELMO to discuss the childrens “Caterpillar Math” Day 3- Watch “Life” movie on “Monarch Butterfly Migration http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFPlQK9rn14 Day 4- use http://www.crosswordpuzzlegames.com/create.html to make my own crossword puzzle for the kids crossword using spelling words about the lesson. Day 5- Watch “Magic School Bus Butterfly and the Bog Beast”
