Respirator Fit Testing and Medical Evaluation Guidelines

This document outlines the requirements for respirator fit testing and medical evaluations in compliance with 29 CFR 1910.134. It includes procedures for administering medical questionnaires to new and existing employees, re-evaluating staff as needed, and ensuring a written program overseen by a trained administrator. Training must be provided annually, covering proper respirator use, donning and doffing procedures, and maintenance. Additionally, guidelines specify selection criteria for NIOSH-approved respirators, necessary fit testing measures, and prohibitions on facial hair that could interfere with sealing.
