  1. Comprehensive Planning Updates Curriculum Coordinators Council April 18, 2012

  2. District Level Planning • All Pilot Phase I Districts will submit their District Level Plans no later than November 30, 2012. (Avella, Brownsville, California, Carmichaels, Central Greene, Connellsville, Jefferson-Morgan, Southeastern Greene, & West Greene School Districts) • Pilot Phase I Districts identified as in Warning, Improvement I & II, Correction I & II or Making Progress are no longer expected to submit the Needs Assessment and Action Planning components of their District Level Plans by June 30, 2012.All components will be submitted on November 30, 2012.

  3. District Level Planning • Phase 2, 3, and 1B (former Phase 3) Districts identified as in Warning are no longer requiredto submit the Needs Assessment and Action Planning components of their District Level by June 30, 2012.(Washington School District) • If identified in September 2012 as District Improvement, then theywill be required to submit Needs Assessment and Action Planning components on November 30, 2012

  4. District Level Planning • Phase II trainings for July, are being rescheduled. We will send out an e-mail as soon as we learn more. • Phase 2 Districts include: (Connellsville Area CTC, Charleroi, Chartiers-Houston, Fayette County VTS, Fort Cherry, Greene County CTC, Mon Valley CTC, Peters Township, Trinity, Washington, & Western Area CTC)

District Level Planning • Updates to the District Level Planning Guide include: • Additional characteristics for existing systems • Three additional systems • These enhancements better organize and align Comprehensive Planning with the areas of the pending Report Card System, the content of SAS, and the Core Foundations

  6. District Level Planning • The offline work completed thus far by Pilot Phase 1 Districts is not affected • The online tool will accommodate these changes for the Phase 1 Pilot Districts

  7. Comprehensive Planning Online Tool • The CP Tool is now scheduled to go live by June 30, 2012 (affects everyone submitting a school or district level plan) • CP Tool Training has been rescheduled for the month of July • As soon as we confirm the locations and dates we will send you an update

  8. School Level Planning For this year only… • Schools identified in September(2011) as in School Improvement I & II, Corrective Action I & II or Making Progress are required to submit their plans by August 30, 2012. (affects all SLPs except those schools that are in Warning) • Next year’s submission of SLPs will return to the June 30, 2013 deadline

  9. School Level Planning • All required School Level Plans will be checked for completion, but only Title I School Level Plans will be reviewed for quality by the Statewide Review. Affected School include: • Plava Elem. – Albert Gallatin • Cardale Elem. - Brownsville • Central Elem. - Brownsville • Charleroi Elem. – Charleroi • Connellsville JH East - Connellsville (cont’d)

School Level Planning • Schools identified as in Warning (September 2011) are no longer required to submit a School Level Plan. • It is highly encouragedfor Warning schools to develop School Level plans for two reasons: • School Level Planning provides a guided opportunity for schools to examine their systems to determine those areas that need attention • A School Level Plan would be ready for implementation should such a plan be required for the following year (2012-13).  • If a Warning school is assigned 2012 School Improvement I status in September, a plan will be required by November 30, 2012.
