  1. Different methods can be used by exterminators to get rid of termites. Termites are known for causing severe damage to your homestead. By using the termidor it guarantees one hundred percent results whereby as soon as it comes into contact with the termite it kills them. It kills the termite and protects your home for the remaining days if there is ever another invasion. Another way exterminators can eliminate pest problems in your home is to place locators that detect termites around the house. This technique enables the exterminators to detect where the creatures are mostly concentrated which is usually their colony. Once this is done, the experts place a substance that is able to kill off most of the worker termites from the population. This eliminates the natural food supply to the colony and the termites population. The exterminators might also dig a shallow trench about four to six inches deep around the homestead. The termidor is then placed in the trench. Usually, they would use four gallons for every ten feet. For homes with cemented floors, normally the cement is drilled so that the termidor is fed into the soil and afterward the holes are cemented again after being swept clean. When exterminators are faced with an indoor infestation, a termidor foam is mixed and injected into tiny areas that are hard to reach such as slab openings. The termidor foam can be absorbed by wood without damaging it, while protecting it against termites. Sometimes, exterminators will need to drill holes in the slab foundation to inject the termidor foam inside. But don't worry about the holes making your home look ugly, as all holes made are later covered completely. Once the exterminator has concluded that all termites have been eliminated, it is recommended that they return to inspect your home every four months. This will ensure that your home is free from pests and pest infestations. It is very serious to use rodenticides in your home, especially if you have pets or children. Each year over 10,000 kids are poisoned by rodenticides. Rodenticides, commonly known as rat or mouse poison, is meant to kill rodents. Some work with one dose while others take multiple doses to be effective. Children, especially those under 6, can become poisoned unintentionally because they put just about everything they see in their mouths. Some formulations of rodent poison come in green pellet shapes or blocks that can resemble candy or food to a child. Small children also learn by putting things into their mouths. Dr. Carla Fry, a Vancouver psychologist, says that infants explore the world through their mouths. "Sucking and chewing on things is how they learn about their environment.". Having a two-year old I can attest to the truth in this. My wife and me are constantly telling her to keep this or that out her mouth. Rodent poison comes in three main different types: 1. anticoagulants that cause the mouse or rat eating it to

  2. bleed to death. This happens by blocking vitamin K from the animal that ingests it. Vitamin K enables coagulation of blood, without it you bleed out. This poison can kill in as little as one week and may require multiple doses. 2. Zinc phosphide when ingested mixes with stomach acid and creates phosphine gas that kills rather quickly, 1-3 days. 3. Calciferols, also known as vitamin D, can be dangerous in small amounts. It creates an over abundance of calcium in the blood stream that cause heart attacks and kidney failure. For rodent poison to be effective, it should be placed in open areas such as the floor, where small children can easily access it. Pets are also susceptible to poisoning if they eat rat poison. Each year 1000s of pets die because of eating rodent poison or because of secondary poisoning. I try to avoid using rat poison or mouse poison in homes with pets or children. At the very least if I have to use a rodenticide, I'll place it in an inaccessible place like the attic. First, if you have a rodent problem in your home or business, it is because the rats or mice are invading from the outside. I mean mice just don't pop out of the thin air into your house. They are known to be able to get in through openings as small as a dime. To eliminate your rodent problem, seal all access points and place traps. Rodent Stop The last course of action should be to put down rat poison. When combatting a mouse, rat, or rodent problem your best course of action is to have a local, reputable, licensed pest control company handle it. Especially if you have children.
